One of the most important routines in the application of makeup is skin preparation. A step that is commonly overlooked but vitally important. Preparing your skin well before the application of your make up will give you a better end result, a smoother finish and what most of us woman are longing for longer lasting makeup. There are a few but very simple steps in prepping the skin that I will discuss for you ladies.
1. The Cleanse
Our best selling cleanser at the moment is from the very popular brand "This Works" called clean skin 5-in-1 water. This is a rosewater cleanser/makeup remover. This is an excellent product it gives a gentle cleanse whilst still removing that last stubborn bit of makeup residue on your skin. What we love in Sculpt about this product is it has a lovely cooling effect as working on the skin can cause some heat/redness at times but this product is very calming on the skin which leaves you with a much more healthy radiant glow. It’s definitely a must have ladies for anyone that is wanting glowing skin.

This is an optional step for those of us finding our skin quite dry lately or that our makeup is tending to clumps in certain areas. A gentle exfoliant is the perfect solution. Exfoliating the skin will help get rid of the extra dead skin cells cleansers have left behind and results in revealing a new smooth glowing skin beneath the surface. For an exfoliator we would recommend Dermalogicas daily microfoliant. This is a gentle exfoliator that can be used daily on the skin and is suitable for all skin types which is even better. This product comes in a powder form and once mixed with water can be applied to the skin to gently exfoliate. We cannot recommend this product enough and it .

Toning the skin has numerous benefits firstly it gives you skin a good ph balance after cleansing and exfoliating, its adds a layer of protection, helps shrink pores and refreshes the skin. You can apply toner by simply applying to a damp cotton pad and applying to skin. For toner we would have to recommendDermalogicas multi-active toner. It comes in a spray format so is super light while refreshing and hydrating the skin. Can be used on the face and neck. Another great buy ladies.

Moisturiser the skin is a vital step in the prepping process. It combats any dryness caused by any of the previous steps, provides day long hydration, a smooth even surface for makeup. For Sculpts choice in a moisturiser we are going to refer back to our "This Works" collection once again for their in transit camera close up. This product is a big hit with celebs such as Victoria Beckham, Cara Delevingne and Val Garland. What we love in Sculpt about this moisturiser is it acts as a mask and primer which is a fantastic product for those of us who are in a rush in the mornings. This moisturiser gives a lovely dewy effect on the skin leaving your skin feeling and looking smooth and soft.

Our last but important step in skin prep is priming our skin. A primer acts as a perfect base for your make up it gives you a smooth canvas and good base while acting as a barrier stopping your facial oils and moisture mixing it your makeup.
My all time favourite primer is NYX Shine Killer and it is not just us who love it! We cannot keep on our shelves!! This primer gives you a lovely matte finish to your makeup by controlling shine and any facial oils you may have. It definitely provides you with a longer lasting makeup its 100% a must have ladies.
